Dr. Ahnie Bequette grew up in Perryville, Missouri, and now calls Jackson home. After graduating from Perryville High School in 2016, she began her academic journey at John A. Logan College, where she earned her Associate of Science degree. She then continued her education at Southeast Missouri State University, earning bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Mathematics in 2020.
While at SEMO, a class on the human eye completely changed her career path. Unsure of what she wanted to do at the time, she realized optometry was the perfect fit—a profession that combined her passion for math and science with her desire to help others. Shadowing local optometrist Dr. Brost confirmed her decision, and she went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, graduating in 2025.
Dr. Bequette is a member of the Missouri Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Missouri Optometric Foundation. She will soon be seeing patients of all ages at all three of our locations.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bequette enjoys spending time outdoors, whether she’s hunting, taking walks, or simply appreciating nature. She also loves reading and spending quality time with her family.
She is excited to return home to begin her career and looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients while helping them achieve their best possible vision.
